Vacationing

Wow... I've been away from my blog for such a long time! Away from my camera, and away from the shutter that beats so deep in my veins! But I'm FINALLY back! I realized that getting my creative juices flowing with my camera does not only relieve stress, but it also gives me some sanity besides the crazy traffic I must endure daily, and the endless hours of class and studying. It really has been driving me crazy, and I stare at my camera every time I come home. I know it's lonely too... calling out to me... please take a picture! haha!

I havnt been fortunate enough to bring my camera with me, but I'm going to make a conscious choice to do so from here on out. To become a better photographer, and to refine my craft I'm going to need to do something about it! And it all starts with the basics, PRACTICE.

This blog was not made to show off my talents to the www, but rather to reassess and examine my progress. I love being behind the camera, and I want my images to portray the things that I'm passionate about, and one of them is PEOPLE. Capturing a piece of their heart, and placing it on the pedestal of time just for a moment. So I blog as though I'm writing to "people" but, i'm sorry "people" i'm not writing to you, I'm writing to the "me" of the future, when I look back at these past blog posts and can confidently say... wow I've grown! For those who do read my blog, I thank you, and your support is tremendous. :]

Here are a few images during the past months that I haven't been blogging.

SELAH FELLOWSHIP'S REVAMPED SUMMER RETREAT 2010:
Every year my youth group puts together a retreat to encourage and build up the youth ministry. From this it birthed new breath into our hearts. And the likely result was a group of Christ followers who came away desiring more of God. You can see the rest of the images here!

WING Ministries (Women Imparting to the Next Generation)
I'm currently on the board of directors with WING Ministries. We reach out to women ministries within churches that desire to implement a mentoring and fellowship program. Its really sweet, and helps to promote passing on generational wisdom from one generation of women to the next. Its been such a blessing to take part of this ministry, and I can't wait to see what else is in store for us!

SAN CLEMENTE Birthday Luncheon with Kim :]
This place is so sweet! Kim took me here for my birthday, and got me my first mimosa! I've never had one before, and it's not my all time favorite spirit, but it does tickle the senses just a bit. I love hanging out with Kim, and it's always a blessing to receive her MANY words of wisdom. Below is a picture of a bench. But it's not just any ol' bench, it's where Vinny (Kim's husband) proposed to her!! They've been married for a year now, and it's amazing to see them grow in love for one another! I love you Kim! Thank you for everything!

Tereasa is a SUPER mom, and has nourished her kids soo well. They are SATURATED with her love and affections. I'm really blessed to have them so close to me! They live 5 minutes away from me driving. I love you guys! For the rest of the images go here.

CSULB NSSHLA: Communicative Disorders
This is my current major, and future career; Speech Language Pathologist! (Aka, your school/hospital/clinic Speech and Language Therapist!) Below are the girls on board of the national organization that overlooks future SLP's for college campuses. ASHA (American Speech Language and Hearing Association) is for professionals (those who have earned a MA in SLP). I love this field, and I look forward to changing the lives of people of all different backgrounds, and needs.

CHO FAMBAM- Laguna Beach
Our family (plus Tinkie, my dog) went to Laguna one random night to enjoy some ice cream and fresh ocean air. It was lovely :] I shot most of these at 1600 ISO on my 40D, and I'm so amazed at the clarity in the end! It still gives that feel of film, but better quality at times. I would like to get back into film one of these days, it's just a gorgeous medium for photography.
